1213) Things are not always as they seem. Madeleine L’Engle said it best in her book, A Wrinkle in Time. The conversation goes:
“We do not understand what this means to see.”
‘Well, it’s what things look like,’ Meg said helplessly.
“We do not know what things look like, as you say,” the beast said.
“We know what things are like. It must be a very limiting thing, this seeing.” (p.181)
Colossians 2:10 tells us that no matter what it seems like in life, Christ is the head of all powers and authority. Nothing happens without his “OK” and it takes faith that God means what he says when he tells us he uses all things for our good.
This good may not be realized in this life, so we need to remind ourselves that things are not always as they seem.
