What Apology?

1183) Waiting for an apology is really a waste of time (unless you are trying to teach a child its values and obligations). So many of us can be caught in this trap because we think that the only way we can let go of the wrong is to first receive an apology.

There are two hard truths here. The first one is that we cannot control another person and making our choice to forgive pending on whether someone else admits they’re wrong is a bad requirement.

The second hard truth is, we do not need an apology to grant the forgiveness that God requires of us.

When we do receive an apology, we need to model our reaction after God’s. He always accepts our apology. He always forgives. Go to Him; He is gracious and compassionate.  Joel 2:13
