1179) One phrase I hear a lot in my middle school classroom is, “It’s not fair!” Of course, there is always that usual comeback when many adults say, “Life is just not fair.” This reply can rub the wrong way because, deep down, the thinking person knows that this is an accurate statement.
Accepting that life is not fair is a hard pill to swallow because we all have a sense of justice inside. When we feel that our situation’s bad or difficult outcome isn’t what we’ve observed in others’ lives, we cringe.
I think it’s interesting that when we get the more favorable outcome when others have not, we don’t complain.
The bottom line is, it’s better that life is not fair because God does not treat us in a way we deserve.
God NEVER takes pleasures in our pain or death; even when we brought it on ourselves. He does not zap us in retaliation for something we have done wrong. He loves us and wants us to do the right things.
It’s not fair, but thank God! Ezekiel 18:32
