1168) When I was growing up, whenever my mom went grocery shopping, we all had to find out what brand of cereal she bought and what kind of treasure was hidden inside the box. This was back when the object of interest was found within the plastic lining, so when we dug for the treasure, the cardboard box bent under our urgency. None of these objects were valuable; it was just the excitement of finding the treasure.
Isaiah tells us of spiritual treasures that are there to be found, and these are valuable. What kinds of treasures are they?
(You are) fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14
While (you) were still (a) sinner (s), Christ died for (you). Romans 5:8
For I know the plans I have for you, plans for (your) welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
You are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you. Isaiah 43:4
And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
These treasures and more are available to God’s children. Faith digs for these, believing they are where God promises.
If you are not God’s child, you can be. John 3:16. God wants you to have these treasures, too. Isaiah 45:3
