I tell myself it’s not really worrying, but planning. If I think of all the bad things that could happen, I can plan how I’ll respond, so I’ll be prepared.
There are two unfortunate things about this reasoning. First, I cannot possibly think of all the things that could go wrong and, two, the outcome of the situation may be fine. In these instances, I have wasted time, not to mention the stress I’ve added to myself, that I could have been doing something more productive.
Worrying is bad for your body, mind, and spirit. Jesus went further to say not to worry about tomorrow; He will provide what you need for today.
Worrying is often about something we can’t control, but God is in control. Proverbs 12:25; Matthew 6:34
