1146)  Do first impressions really matter? I can see reasons why they do and reasons why they don’t. Regardless of where you stand on this question, it usually is in your best interest to make at least a positive impression when you meet others. Why? Because this impression can steer the conversation and potential relationship in a good direction.

When this gets difficult is when you realize it takes time to get to know others and for them to get to know you. You need to see the other person in different situations and watch how they act and react. Through time, these observations will reveal whether trusting is a good idea.

With God, do not rely on others’ views of who He is. Spend time with him, observing his actions and listening to his words. Find out for yourself that he is trustworthy.
