1132) The library has always been a magical place for me. I think this is because when I was growing up, my mother took us there every week during the summer and we got to check out books. I loved seeing shelf after shelf of books; pulling beautiful ones out and looking at them. The quiet atmosphere made this experience even more enchanting. There is just something soothing about calm and quiet places. I think of these things when I read Psalm 46:10.
In this Psalm, I think God is trying to tell us being still is important. This stillness enables us to hear even the softest whisper. This is an opportunity to quietly speak and easily listen. There are things communicated in this atmosphere that could not be heard in our busy lives.
If you want to know God better, be still and quiet. He will meet you there.
