1110) Many of us who grew up in the buckle of the Bible Belt were told continually to count our blessings. It seemed adults used this phrase when they were frustrated with their kids’ ingratitude, but regardless, it’s an excellent motto to live by.
What blessings do we have? Let’s think about it. We were given life and a family (naturally or by adoption). We had those who loved us growing up. We have had all our needs met, and when life was hard, there were people and animals there to make the load lighter. This list is just the tip of the iceberg.
God cares enough to bless you. He promises it. He will “keep” you; building a protection around you. He will always be gracious; giving you only His best, whether or not you deserve it. He gives peace to His children.
When life seems unsatisfactory and difficult (or even when it’s not), take the time to list the blessings you have received. It may surprise you at how long the list is. Numbers 6:24-25
