1092) I have been reading through the books of Corrie Ten Boom this summer and have been blessed in so many ways. If you haven’t read her work, I would encourage you to do so. She was blessed with the ability, often because of her suffering, to effectively address important things in life and one of these messages concerned faith. Paul calls it the shield of faith in Ephesians 6:26.
In a chapter in Tramp for the Lord, Corrie tells of faith being like a radar that can see through the fog of this life and find the purpose and hope for us in this world and the next. This illustration of what faith really is has taken a nebulous concept and made it more understandable.
Paul tells us in this verse we need to take up the shield of faith to protect us from the enemy. If faith “sees” via “radar” what we cannot, I am convinced of its power. Grab your shield; it’s a necessity.
