1090) I know little about military strategies, but I have a logical mind. I understand that things, areas, and people who are or have the most power are vulnerable. If you have an enemy, on any level, and they are intelligent, they’ll look at attacking you in these areas. In places that use hand-to-hand combat, a breastplate is necessary for protection.

Ephesians 6:14 tells us to put on the breastplate of righteousness. Those in Paul’s day would have immediately known why this piece of armor was vital. The breastplate was worn on your chest, protecting your heart and other vital organs during an attack. Without this piece of armor, there wouldn’t be much of a battle; death would come quickly.

To wear a breastplate of righteousness tells us that doing the right thing in every area of our lives gives us the most protection from enemies, human or supernatural. It helps to thwart trouble in multiple ways. Choosing to not prioritize being righteous is foolish.

Trust God when he reveals to us that being righteous will improve our lives in multiple ways.
