On Your Armor or Gods?

1088) I am a disaster thinker. What do I mean by this? I think about what’s coming next in my life, whether it be that day or in the weeks, months and years ahead, and imagine what horrible things can come with it. I do this (often without realizing it, at first) because in my mind, if I can come up with strategies to protect myself and/or survive it, if it comes, I’ll be in much better shape to handle it. The problem with this habit is I cannot protect myself adequately, and I have invested extra worry and anxiety into something that may not happen.

This thinking reminds me of Ephesians 6:11. Paul instructs us to put on the full armor of God’s and not ours. God has promised to protect us and not allow anything to come our way that isn’t for our good.

Standing on this promise, my life has the potential to be less stressful, allowing me to relax because God’s armor will protect me.
