1082) Are people naturally good? We hear and see many amazing things people do or have done for others; especially for strangers and I think this is important to note them. However, the Biblical answer to this question is, no, people are not naturally good but can do good things.

Saying people are not basically good seems to lean on the controversial side of these days. Why? Because if this statement is true, then it means we need redemption, which God offers to us.

This gift of redemption cost God his son and, out of gratitude, we strive to do good toward God, others and ourselves. Goodness is part of the light. Its brightness can illuminate the entire world. Ephesians 5: 9.
