1081) Darkness, on many levels, is a scary place to be. Sometimes it’s somewhere in the absence of light; you can “see” things that are not necessarily there. At other times, being in a dark place can be an emotional experience; nothing feels good and depression fills your being. Spiritually, darkness represents the lack of hope, faith, and love. Regardless of which type of darkness we find ourselves, it is logical that we may be afraid of it.
Ephesians 5:8 confirms that we all were born into spiritual darkness and different “philosophies” suggest that we can lead ourselves out of it and into the light. Biblical faith tells us that we can’t do this for ourselves, but that God has already done it for us. He provides the light of salvation and guidance and we can move out of the darkness we’ve known and into the light.
Darkness has no power over light; don’t give it power that it does not have.
