1070) Some of the most beautiful moments in my life have been embedded within the worst pain I have experienced. There was one occasion when my heart felt like it was being ripped apart. The pain was so bad that I literally hopped on one foot in response, similar to how someone might who just hit their thumb with a hammer.
One day, in my despair, I looked through my tears, barely able to breathe. I saw a friend weeping as he sat right beside me, his tears flowing as if he felt the same agony. I’ll never forget how it felt to witness this amid so much pain. It brought such comfort, not that it ended the pain, but this simple, yet difficult act by another person lightened my load.
If we have emptied ourselves of the garbage mentioned in Ephesians 4:31, then filling it with compassion is a noble goal. The word compassion simply means to feel what someone else feels. There is so much power within this gesture and the results can be the difference between life or death of someone on the brink of despair.
Tap into the power of compassion. It’s an opportunity for God to use you in supernatural ways. Ephesians 4:32
