Gifts from God: Wisdom

1050) As a kid, I enjoyed watching the show, Leave it to Beaver. I even watch it from time to time now, too.

Beaver was a character who was believable; he would often say funny things that were so typical of kids. There was another character in that show I didn’t like and he was Eddie Haskell.

Eddie is such a wise guy. He’s what I would call a smart aleck. He was a character who believed he was witty when he was really annoying. Being wise has nothing to do with being a wise guy.

In Ephesians 1:7-8. We read of another gift God gives us, and that’s wisdom. What is it? The easiest definition is that someone with wisdom can discern what is good and bad.

They will know when it’s best to do something and when it’s not. The person is thoughtful before he or she speaks or acts; saving them from the negative consequences that come from not doing these things.

Wisdom is a valuable gift; ask for it and then, when offered, dare to take it.
