A Job Well Done

1004) It’s funny how certain events stick out in your mind. I remember many years ago; I was in my classroom full of high school kids and as we were leaving my room; I asked a boy to pick up the wadded piece of paper on the floor in front of him. He frowned and said, “It’s not my job.” I was speechless. I couldn’t believe that he said this, and I strongly urged him to pick it up, anyway.

Sometimes we have the idea that some jobs are less important than others. Romans 12:3-8 reminds us that no job or talent we have, even if we think it’s insignificant, is unimportant. It is in this recognition that we value and encourage others and things get done.

All that we offer God and each other is important. If we don’t use what we have been given, it affects the job of others. Let’s do a job “well done.”
