1001) “From,” “Through,” and “For” are three small words that are seemingly unimportant, but are they? They are very important if you’re reading, Romans 11:36. “For from him (God) and through him and for him are all things…”
In this verse, Paul first states that from God, all things come. What things? James 1:17 tells us that these are the good and perfect things God sends our way. These things could be a spouse, job, health, pet, home and talents. Does this mean that these things God allows to come our way are perfect? No. While this fallen world exists, things of this life will wear out and decay. However, if God allows them in our lives, they’re going to be used for our good.
Second, Paul says that all things good come through God; God is the source and not some haphazard coincidence of the universe. God does not run everything on a whim. He is thoughtful, deliberate and ever-loving. He is the gate (John 10:9) that allows everything to either pass through or be denied.
Third, Paul says that all good things are for God. God created everything for man to enjoy. (Genesis 1-2.) In giving to man, similarly to parents giving gifts to their children, he deserves and should get all the praise and glory from this world as he is the life-giver. (Isaiah 43:7).
Focusing on these small words can lead to big changes of perspective. Dare to focus.
