The Twists of Satan

994) One weapon I think Satan loves to use against us is when he takes something that God gives us and twists this gift into a package of uselessness. One of these things is the grace and forgiveness God gives us.

When I do something wrong, instead of telling God (and anyone else involved) I’m sorry, Satan takes my actions and uses them to condemn me. If you did ____ then you need to make yourself pay. This directly opposes the fact that God has already paid for it, and when we beat up on ourselves, we are rejecting God’s payment, belittling its value.

In recognizing that Satan wants us to focus on what we feel will make us righteous, when this behavior does anything but, we can mature in God and be in awe of his grace and forgiveness and embrace that instead. Romans 7:21-25.
