904) We all have enemies or, at the very least, those who dislike us. How do you feel about them? For me, the answer to this question would depend on what they did to me because of their dislike.

Did they treat me differently because they don’t like me? Did they spread nasty rumors about me? Did they try to influence others to dislike me–after all, misery loves company?

There will always be those we rub the wrong way, but God is clear in Luke 6:27-36 that we are to love our enemies or those who dislike us. Why? Because God is love (1John 4:8). When we love others, particularly those who cannot stand us, we are showing what God is like. Is this an easy task? No, but many things that are difficult are worth the effort.
