901) As a recently published author of my debut novel, The Bottle House. I learned right away that I cannot just sit back and let people come to me (or Amazon or BAM) to buy it. Instead, I have to get the book before others’ eyes. It doesn’t matter how good the book is or how much God can use it in others’ lives, if people don’t know about it-. You get the idea.

This same principle is also true in sharing our gifts and values with others. We’ve got to get them out there so they can see them, and the best way to do that is to go where they are. Jesus does this in Luke 5:1-11. He goes to Simon, the fisherman, gets in his boat with him and then shares who he is. Jesus did not sit back and wait for people to come to him and then react to them.

If we’re going to do any good in this world, we need to put ourselves out there; meet people where they are and let them invite you in. This takes action rather than waiting around to give others a reaction. Act.
