872) In teaching middle and high school kids, I’ve found through the years that when I ask them what they’re good at; they take a while to compile the list. If I ask them what they’re not good at, the lists are made quickly. After such an assignment, I tell them it’s important to know what you’re good at because there lies the ability to use their gifts to make good things happen.
In Matthew 25:14-30, we read of a parable Jesus told that reflects these things. Three men are given bags of gold. Two of them use the gold to produce more, but the third one buries the gold and has only that to show the man at the end. He is scolded for not doing something productive with his gold.
God has given all of us gifts. If you don’t know what they are, consider this. God expects us to use the gifts He has given us. Not knowing your gift and/or not using them is a gift wasted.
