The Never-ending Story

867) I get the idea, that what happens in this world is the end of the story. This thinking is far from biblical. There is a life beyond this one, according to scriptures, and it would be helpful for me to think of this more often.

If I remember this truth, things that are like John the Baptist’s story in Matthew 14:1-12 would not be as tragic. In these verses, Herod’s lover hated John because he pointed out the sin of their ways. She uses her daughter to exact revenge and, ultimately, John is beheaded and it is brought to the woman on a platter. Yes, this was the end of John’s earthy life, but it was the beginning of the next life for him.

The Bible teaches we will have a never-ending story. The question is, what direction will your story continue after this life?
