860) There are those who are insecure and constantly question whether their spouse, coworker, boss, or preacher (to name a few) are trustworthy. Because of this, perhaps we need to figure out when we consider them trustworthy. Usually this happens as the relationship between you strengthens. After all, it would be foolish to trust someone you don’t really know with something important.
In Matthew 8:23-27, Jesus and some of his disciples were in a boat and a fierce storm struck. The disciples seemed to be irritated that Jesus was asleep and didn’t know they were in danger. When they woke him up, Jesus stilled the storm and then asked them why they didn’t trust Him. I’m wondering if the reason, in part, was because they didn’t know Him very well yet. This may or may not be true but, the bottom line is, in order to trust God more, we need to get to know Him better. Doing so will help a lot with trust.
