When Enough is Enough

834) People are multifaceted and the capacities of the human mind are truly amazing. When we consider others around us, we often see only a handful of who each one really is, and it would be helpful to us to remember this. We may see someone who is abrupt and black and white about things and assume that they have no feelings or tenderness and we can sometime make assumptions about God.

Our view of God is definitely limited, but the things we see are often unbalanced. Perhaps we see God as the Protector or the Lover of mankind, but there’s also a part of Him that may not be as comfortable to consider. In Daniel 5, we have the scene of King Belshazzar’s party, where the golden goblets that were stolen from the temple in Jerusalem were defiled and human fingers write a message to the king. In these verses we see God’s judgment and then the king dies before the evening passed.

There is a point when God says, “Enough is enough” and though it may be a side of Him you don’t want to consider, it’s still a part of Him.
