818) We are living in times when gasoline is very expensive. What used to be a reasonable price at the pump is now much higher. While at the gas pumps recently, it came to me that there is another type of “gasoline” that is also very expensive. It is the substance of our response toward someone who is angry. If we are not careful, we can actually fuel their fury which results in nothing that is good.
I am convinced that we do not cause another to be angry. It is their choice, but Proverbs 21:14 reveals that refusing to feed another’s anger is a gift, especially when given in secret.
Engaging with an angry person rarely brings positive results. It might be a good idea to remember this truth the next time you fill up your car with gas. This choice of fueling another’s anger is expensive, too.
