811) One of my favorite quotes from Madeleine L’Engle is found within the pages of A Wrinkle in Time. It says:

“We don’t understand what you mean, ‘To see’. ‘Well, it’s what things look like,’ Meg said   

 helplessly. ‘We do not know what things ‘look like’ as you say. We know what things are like.

 It must be a very limited thing this ‘seeing’.”

Proverbs 21:29 reveals the confusion that Meg was struggling with. Some people can look like such good, well-intentioned, “what you see is what you get” people, but in reality, they are evil. We must use wisdom to guide us in discerning these things within others.
