793) I don’t know why this is true, but whenever I have some problem on my mind and I awake in the middle of the night, the problem always feels much worse. It’s almost as if my worries, fears and thoughts magnify the trouble that’s on my mind.
I have found something that helps this problem, however. I see it in Psalm 63:6. David said that he made the choice to “remember” God in the watches of the night. Could this be because he experienced feelings and thoughts like I do? I don’t know for sure, but I know that “switching” the subject in my mind from these fears and onto God, helps me put down the emotional magnifying glass and receive the rest I need.
