694) Most of us know that to God a day is like a thousand years. (2 Peter 3:8) Knowing this, it can be frustrating when we want His help now and He takes His time answering.
The Israelites experience this same frustration. In Judges 13, the Israelites were, once again, not following God’s laws and He sent the Philistines to subdue them. The children of Israel finally realize they have rebelled against God and they cry out for mercy. God intervenes, but His chosen deliverer was not even born yet. This chapter informs us that a baby boy is conceived, born, grows up and then he, Samson, becomes Israel’s deliverer. Though God’s timetable is hard to deal with don’t confuse “taking His time” with not caring or answering. God’s actions (or inactions) are always for our good. We need to trust that events in our lives happen when God deems it best. Hang on through the frustration; God understands.
