640) If you are running a race, looking back over your shoulder will slow you down, at the least, or cause you to fall and keep you from the finish line. So much of my time is looking backward; my history, my choices, and my memories. As I put one foot in front of the other, it is not helpful or encouraging to stay in the past. Hebrews 12:2 tells us that it works much better to stay focused on the steps I am taking now as I progress this life with Jesus at the finish line. I often have to ask myself, where are my eyes?
