616) I remember the months before I was married. That feeling of joy was all-encompassing. I smile when I think about it because the love I have now for my husband is so much deeper. Love is thrown around a lot. It’s easy to make an event over a marriage proposal but not so easy when we are at our worst. Matthew 5:43-48 tells us to love everyone, even our enemies. What? Am I being asked to treat others with the same love and compassion God gives me? That can’t be right, but it is. It’s easy to love those we have a positive relationship with but it’s difficult to love all the others. In light of this, I think it’s appropriate to say that loving in this manner (and even in relationships that are good) is a form of worship. We choose to treat others in a loving manner, even when we don’t feel like it. That is worship.
