596) Have you ever known someone who frequently waivered back and forth between choices because they could not make up their minds? Making a choice means you choose the consequences – good or bad – of that choice and sometimes you think that by not making the choice, it gets you out of this “jam”. The problem is that making no choice IS making a choice.
God does not want people to be fair weathered friends with Him. He wants to be in your life, not always when you are in a place of difficulties but when you’re rejoicing, too.
If you’re going to follow what you want out of life or you think it’s a good idea to follow God when in need, Elijah’s words are clear. “If the Lord is God, follow him. If Baal (or whatever we substitute for the god) is god, follow him.” Make up your mind. 1 Kings 18:21
